Oprah is working extra hard to save OWN

When 50 Cent went on the talk show “The View,” he said that he named his pet dog Oprah, whom he refers to as “Oprah Winfree, 50 Cent’s Bitch” on the pet’s Twitter site.
50 Cent, who is worth more than $200 million, said that Oprah inspired the name he gave his dog because he didn’t like her, even though he had never previously met her personally.
The duo’s beef goes way back to 2006, when Jackson criticized Oprah for her lack of guest diversity.  Jackson’s dislike for the media maven grew out of an assumption that he had about her not liking his genre of music. Oprah reportedly had a rapper ban on her old show.
Even rapper-turned-actor Ludacris, born Chris Bridges, complained to GQ magazine about her treatment of rappers, During his appearance on her show for his role in the film “Crash,” he said, “she edited out a lot of my comments while keeping her own in.  Of course, it’s her show, but we were doing a show on racial discrimination, and she gave me a hard time as a rapper, when I came on there as an actor.  Initially, I wasn’t even invited on the show, and they called the night before to tell me I could be on.”
Former rapper-turned-Hollywood mogul Ice Cube also told FHM Magazine, “I’ve been involved in three projects pitched to her [Oprah Winfrey], but I’ve never been asked to participate on her show.  Maybe she’s got a problem with hip-hop. … She’s had damn rapists, child molesters, and lying authors on her show. And if I’m not a rags-to-riches story for her, who is?”
In 2006, Oprah did go on a N.Y. radio show that was hosted by DJ Ed Lover and spoke about her alleged bias toward the rap community.  “I listen to some hip-hop. You know, I’ve been accused of not liking hip-hop, and that’s just not true. I got a little 50 [Cent] on my iPod. I really do. “Love In Da Club.” … Love that, and you know, love Jay-Z, love Kanye [West], love Mary J. [Blige].”
The alleged ban was lifted when “Big Pimpin’” Jay-Z made his way onto her program in 2010.
Now 50 Cent has had a 360-degree change of heart and says he loves Oprah — especially now that he’s finally met her.
Since the two moguls have made nice with each other, they will discuss topics like love, the rap culture, fatherhood, spirituality, Jackson’s upbringing, and even love.  The interview took place at the home of “Fiddy’s” grandmother.
The two-hour interview has two parts, with the first airing this upcoming Sunday.  Oprah writes on her website blog that she really liked 50 Cent and  she was really glad that she did the interview.  Oprah also writes about the five things that she came away with from her comfortable chat with Jackson.
According to Oprah:
1. He meditates regularly.
2. Received his mantra from Deepak Chopra, whose book he’s currently reading.
3. He was not allowed to use curse words in his grandmother’s house and still follows that rule.
4. A recent conversation with philanthropist Ray Chambers was life changing for him.
And my favorite….
5. He believes either pray or worry…no need for both.
